Our Team
Assad Sadat
Club Chairman.
Assad is the Chairman and one of the co-founders of London Legends F.C. Assad initially thought of the idea and design of the club at only 26 years old and worked with Trisha to make it become a reality. Assad has always been passionate about football; he achieved his FA Level 1 at only 17 and went on to coaching straight away. Assad is passionate about the inclusivity of ethnic minorities in football, as he has experienced the struggle and difficulty throughout his football career. Despite these challenges, Assad has grown London Legends F.C from 2 teams in 2016 to now over 20 teams in 3 different leagues across South-East London. Assad won the Selkent league in his first ever season, went on to win the cup final in his next season and his team received a promotion and then in his next season his team went on to win the league again.
Trisha
Vice Chairman.
Trisha is the Vice Chairman and one of the co-founders of London Legends F.C., she worked with Assad to start the club in 2016. Her day job is a city-lawyer and in her spare time she manages the administration of the club. Trisha used to play football for Gillingham Girls F.C when she was younger and so when she saw the lack of women’s football teams in South-East London, she set up the club’s first female football team (and one of the only women’s teams in the area) and play’s midfield for the team, which so far is a great success. Trisha is passionate about the inclusivity of deaf people in football, due to her own family experience and so is planning on opening a football team for deaf people over the upcoming years.
Kamar McCarthy-botchway
Mini-soccer team coach
Kamar McCarthy-Botchway is an FA Level 1 qualified football coach. He has been coaching for just over a year and spent the 2019/20 season with the London Legends U8’s age group.
Kamar says: “throughout Season 2019/20, I developed massively as a coach and London Legends and the boys enabled me to find my coaching style and preference. Even as the coach, I find that younger age groups have a way of teaching you just as much about yourself as you can teach them.”
Kamar is an enthusiastic, organised and committed coach and has really developed his current team to be Legends. His goal is to keep improving and gaining confidence as a football coach, and over the course of the next year we will support him to moving on to and achieving his next FA Level 2 coaching badge.
